Featured Artist Barbara Hertz

Tecumseh artist, Barbara Hertz will be featured at the Floral Gallery through the months of November and December. Born in Dover, New Jersey, Barbara is proud to say that art has always been a part of her life. With her husband in the Air Force, she was allowed many opportunities to study under the instruction of well-known artists from coast to coast. Winning top awards in many different places, her advice to all aspiring artist is to simply “keep going.”

Upon her husband’s retirement thirty years ago, Barbara and her family now live on the edge of Tecumseh and continue to enjoy the small town atmosphere. Now a well-known local artist, Barbara has sculpted four soldiers “Faces of Freedom” and created “Tecumseh Run” for the Tecumseh Veterans Memorial. Barbara is also the painter of two horses for the Shawnee Horse in the City project. Featured in numerous magazines and exhibitions, and having done many commissions and celebrated many other honors, Barbara is realizing her dream of becoming a successful artist.

Artwork by Barbara Hertz is currently on display at the Floral Gallery at 701 N. Broadway in Tecumseh and will remain up through December.

We are seeking Artists of all mediums to participate in our new bi-monthly Featured Artist Program!

A different local or regional artist will be spotlighted in the store every two months, with all artwork for sale to the public. Artists of all mediums are encouraged to apply. All artwork must be for sale and ready to be displayed. A 20% commission will be retained and must be included within the sale price. Follow the White Rabbit Check Presentation

Check Presented to the Tecumseh Public Schools Art Program
The proceeds from the Second Annual Follow the White Rabbit Art Show was presented to the Tecumseh Art Program in the form of a check on Monday. The check was enthusiastically accepted by art teacher Jennifer Cox and several of her art students. Shop owner Lisa Keel and art student Rebecca Kelly playfully exaggerate the occasion in this photograph. The proceeds will assist in purchasing art supplies for the students; encouraging our emerging artists!

We look forward to future Follow the White Rabbit art shows to continue our support of future and current artists.

Featured Artist Charles Spillers

After the success of the celebrated annual Follow the White Rabbit Art Show, the Floral Gallery is now implementing a bi-monthly featured artist program. A new local or regional artist will be spotlighted within the store every two months, with all artwork for sale to the public. Many talented artists of all different mediums call the Tecumseh and Shawnee areas their home. The Featured Artist at the Floral Gallery is yet another way for those artists to be recognized, given the exposure needed to succeed, and at the same time bring amazing artwork into the community.

A native Oklahoman, Charles spent more than twenty years in the Navy and fifteen in law enforcement. After retirement from his extensive careers he was able to become more serious about developing his talent for art. He began taking classes in Shawnee, then at Seminole State College. An award winner in multiple regional art shows, Charles is skilled in many styles and subjects, as well as many different mediums.

Artwork by Charles Spillers is currently on display at the Floral Gallery at 701 N. Broadway in Tecumseh and will remain up throughout the months of September and October.

Through the Looking Glass and Beyond

Opening night was a great success. If you haven't gotten a chance to come by, the artwork will be here until August 22nd. Remember: a portion of the proceeds go directly to the Tecumseh Public School Art Program, the rest goes to the artists themselves! What a great opportunity to purchase a beautiful piece of art and support your local artists and art program at the same time!
