Featured Artist Barbara Hertz

Tecumseh artist, Barbara Hertz will be featured at the Floral Gallery through the months of November and December. Born in Dover, New Jersey, Barbara is proud to say that art has always been a part of her life. With her husband in the Air Force, she was allowed many opportunities to study under the instruction of well-known artists from coast to coast. Winning top awards in many different places, her advice to all aspiring artist is to simply “keep going.”

Upon her husband’s retirement thirty years ago, Barbara and her family now live on the edge of Tecumseh and continue to enjoy the small town atmosphere. Now a well-known local artist, Barbara has sculpted four soldiers “Faces of Freedom” and created “Tecumseh Run” for the Tecumseh Veterans Memorial. Barbara is also the painter of two horses for the Shawnee Horse in the City project. Featured in numerous magazines and exhibitions, and having done many commissions and celebrated many other honors, Barbara is realizing her dream of becoming a successful artist.

Artwork by Barbara Hertz is currently on display at the Floral Gallery at 701 N. Broadway in Tecumseh and will remain up through December.

We are seeking Artists of all mediums to participate in our new bi-monthly Featured Artist Program!

A different local or regional artist will be spotlighted in the store every two months, with all artwork for sale to the public. Artists of all mediums are encouraged to apply. All artwork must be for sale and ready to be displayed. A 20% commission will be retained and must be included within the sale price. Follow the White Rabbit Check Presentation

Check Presented to the Tecumseh Public Schools Art Program

The proceeds from the Second Annual Follow the White Rabbit Art Show was presented to the Tecumseh Art Program in the form of a check on Monday. The check was enthusiastically accepted by art teacher Jennifer Cox and several of her art students. Shop owner Lisa Keel and art student Rebecca Kelly playfully exaggerate the occasion in this photograph. The proceeds will assist in purchasing art supplies for the students; encouraging our emerging artists!

We look forward to future Follow the White Rabbit art shows to continue our support of future and current artists.

Featured Artist Charles Spillers

After the success of the celebrated annual Follow the White Rabbit Art Show, the Floral Gallery is now implementing a bi-monthly featured artist program. A new local or regional artist will be spotlighted within the store every two months, with all artwork for sale to the public. Many talented artists of all different mediums call the Tecumseh and Shawnee areas their home. The Featured Artist at the Floral Gallery is yet another way for those artists to be recognized, given the exposure needed to succeed, and at the same time bring amazing artwork into the community.

A native Oklahoman, Charles spent more than twenty years in the Navy and fifteen in law enforcement. After retirement from his extensive careers he was able to become more serious about developing his talent for art. He began taking classes in Shawnee, then at Seminole State College. An award winner in multiple regional art shows, Charles is skilled in many styles and subjects, as well as many different mediums.

Artwork by Charles Spillers is currently on display at the Floral Gallery at 701 N. Broadway in Tecumseh and will remain up throughout the months of September and October.

Opening night was a great success. If you haven't gotten a chance to come by, the artwork will be here until August 22nd. Remember: a portion of the proceeds go directly to the Tecumseh Public School Art Program, the rest goes to the artists themselves! What a great opportunity to purchase a beautiful piece of art and support your local artists and art program at the same time!

The Second Annual Follow the White Rabbit Art Show IS ALMOST HERE!!

Take a journey through the looking glass and discover something magical as the white rabbit returns to Tecumseh! The opening reception will be held Friday, July 25 at 6:00pm featuring a variety of art forms produced by 16 local artists. All artwork will be for sale with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Tecumseh Public Schools art program. CALL FOR ENTRIES

Open Theme, Any Media

Show us your art! Artists at least 18 years of age may present a portfolio of slides, digital images (CD), or a web address for consideration. There is no limit on the amount of pieces you can submit. There is no fee to enter. Make sure to include a list of titled art work, the dimensions and sell prices (including a 20% commission) of each piece. If you want us to return your portfolio, please remember to include a self addressed stamped envelope, otherwise we will it keep it on file for future consideration. Send your portfolio to: 701 N. Broadway, Tecumseh, OK 74873.

Sell your work! All artwork must be for sale. Artwork must be priced to include a 20% commission. Our 20% commission will be donated to support our local art program.

If you are selected: Artist is responsible for delivery and pickup of unsold artwork. Your work will be set up and taken down by our gallery staff. Two-dimensional artwork must be ready to hang (framed and/or wired).

Follow the White Rabbit Art Show

is coming up soon!

Opening Friday, July 25 at 6pm.

In case you missed last year's show let us catch you up on what a success the white rabbit was in his first year. We featured artwork including oil painting, pastels, stained glass, photography, watercolor and digital painting. Local and regional artists included were Candace Coker, Lori Deemer, Lynn Farrar, Stephen Hackley, Barbara Hertz, Lisa Keel, Lance Kelly, Tim Kelly, and Christa May. Most of the artists were on hand at the opening reception which was so packed we had to utilize the parking across the street. What fun!

Through the sales of artwork and the help of our generous sponsors, we were able to make a generous donation to the Tecumseh Public Schools art program. Thank you to last year's sponsors: Tecumseh Tag Agency, Belshe Industries, Watkins Heat and Air, Pierre’s Cleaners, Great Plains Graphics, Cooper Funeral Home, and Dr. Justin Phillips. We hope to have even more success this year with the Second Annual Follow the White Rabbit Art Show.
